Hacks (Quick Notes)

Make sure to re-name any automated content folders / plugins. What you don’t want to do is leave the folder structure where /wp-content/plugins/default-blog-farm-plugin

Big “G” and gang knows what blog farm plug-in are out there, and just like this article from TechCrunch says Big “G” has declared jihad on link farms.

**Note** also make sure to install a blank index file in EVERY folder that you do not want to be browsable.

This would include at a minimum:

/wp-content/

/wp-content/plugins

/wp-content/themes

/wp-content/uploads

Etc . . . .

Index in plugin folder

Index in themes folder

(rename any automated content folders)

Design

It’s critical that each of the blogs in your blog farm / autoblog network have a unique design. What easy way to spot a blog farm is if 100 sites on the same Class C all have the exact same Adsense template? Stop being lazy and make sure that each blog looks 100% unique and different from each blog in your blog farm / autoblog network.

I run the site www.FreeWebsiteThemes.com, so go there grab some themes and away you go. If you are using a Wordpress mass manager with theme control, you can load each of these themes in and upload automatically.

Back Link Building

Another huge mistake with blog farm set up and management is there are great efforts put into setting up, designing, and maintaining a proper blog farm . . . but then no back links are sent to the blog’s themselves.

Each blog in your blog farm should have a minimum of 100 back links sent to the blog. Good news is, there is a number of ways to accomplish this. Some of the methods you can use to build back links are.

Blog commenting

Forum posting

Web directory submissions

Article submissions

Blog farm interlinking

Link Wheel development

Web 2.0 Site Linking

If you need help with any of the above, I do offer back link development services. Get in touch with me and I can help lay down a solid plan here. *HINT* I can do it en mass with killer effectiveness.

Final Thoughts, Overall Strategies & Ramblings

Don’t forget to do keyword research. I personally use the free Google keyword tool to find variations of the keyword I am looking for. Once you have the keywords you are after you can work more efficiently in setting up your blog farm / autoblog network.

Remember, autoblog’s are not the problem; it’s how you will link them to your sites. If you want to go the extra mile, you can always use a custom content production service to produce content daily, weekly, monthly for your blogs. I have found that blogs in my blog farm do much better when I feed them with unique human written content. (But then that makes them “semi-autoblog’s”

However you can use duplicate content and please note that it’s a total myth that Google will ban you for duplicate content. Think about the logic, there are article directory’s which receive 1,000 articles / day which are all submitted to 500 other article directories . . . none of them get de-indexed?

It’s ok to have duplicate content, just don’t get side tracked with Markov + RSS (that’s a sure fire looser).

The biggest mistake of blog farms is trying to grow too big to fast . . . . slow down and develop a long term approach.

Make sure to mix the quality of back links to your site . . . don’t just do blog commenting or social book marking . . . try to work a blended approach across the board.

Well, that’s it . . . I tried my best to give you a great overview of what it takes to build a successful autoblog.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a line and I will do my best to answer.
