Base 64 Decode Tool – Remove Encrypted Footer Links

creative-commons-350Just like you, I also use tons of free Wordpress themes. Usually when I find a good one, the author thinks it’s clever to encrypt the footer.php file. Most authors do this to prevent YOU from removing links to their Acia Berry sites and Free Credit Repair Offers.

Now before any of you start winning, I also run several free Wordpress theme download sites and yes, I do this not for the good of mankind, but to generate back links to my affiliate offers as well.

However, I make it standard practice to never encrypt footers. After all, if someone wants to remove your links . . . they will!

So for any of you who are looking to decode a base 64 Wordpress footer, I have just the site for you to visit. Here is a base 64 decode tool that is free to use.

Simply enter in the base 64 elements into the box and click “Decode”.

This handy little app will produce a nice clean code to replace in the footer.php file.

It’s worth noting that this method also works with sidebars that are encoded using base 64 encryption . . . it’s ALSO worth noting that if a file is double encrypted, then this tool won’t work. At which point in time you can go get another free theme and start the process all over.
