Copyscape Alternatives?
I am in the middle of developing a of blog farm software that leverages the power of WordPress. My goal is to create a community site by which members can leverage the power of a blog farm, without over complicating the process. I want it to be as easy as installing a free plugin then registering to the community.
One of the main problems of creating a community driven blog farm software application is duplicate content and members who would choose to abuse the system with duplicate content. To address this problem I instantly went to Copyscape to see how much their premium service cost.
I was shocked at $0.05 / search. . . . So I started looking for Copyscape alternatives. I was able to find quite a few.

Now, if you are looking for a Copyscape alternative like I am, you might want to consider that Copyscape does use the Google API. So I have started asking myself the question as I write this article and as I went through the above links . . . what is it worth to have the Google API in your back pocket to aid in checking for duplicate content?
I am now leaning towards using the Copyscape platform and just passing the cost down to the members who choose to post content on the blog farm.
