Finding The Right Niche

finding a nicheFinding the right niche . . . It is not all that difficult actually.

What is more difficult is taking the decision that you want to seriously start making money online.

Too many people get temporarily motivated to sell online and they create an account on some site like eBay. In fact, we read that there are over 70000 people who join eBay every single day!! But how many of them will seriously make money selling on eBay . . . . Not many, right?

That is because making money online requires passion . . . , and unless you are truly passionate about the niche you’re trying to target, we won’t survive the first few weeks. The beauty of today’s online selling sites is that most of the good ones are free to join. Only when we make a sale do we pay them something, and that is probably what gets all these people to join.

Coming to choosing your niche, spend a little time and write down a list of things you like browsing through while online. Or go to your eBay account and think about all the different categories there. Which ones attract you the most and which ones do you spend maximum time browsing through? Once that is clear, you have your answer! Selling is a profession that you cannot do if you don’t enjoy the process. You might probably last a few months and even make a few sales, but eventually, burn out will happen, and it is not worth it.

What we absolutely love about the internet of today is that there is nothing which cannot be sold over here! Whether it is the latest gadgets or the first editions of foreign newspapers, everything can be sold, and the beauty is that every one of these niches has a market. The trick lies in tapping into that market, and in letting people know that you are present to take care of their requirements in the category. Though it is slow process of building a satisfied clientele, once you get there, you don’t really need to worry about business any more. The priority shifts to providing value products and taking care of customers’ needs; and you will never want for money!

So it all boils down to choosing the right niche in order to make money online. Then learn all there is to know about the niche – read books, spend hours online, and speak to people. Once you are confident that you are an authority on the subject, start selling. We’d recommend that you start small and preferably with drop shipping or third party contracts. That is so you don’t end up losing money. Once you grow in confidence (and bank balance), you can get onto selling big time, and you will see that the process is truly enjoyable!

Here’s the key once more – enjoy what you do . . . making money online is a true pleasure.
