Free Wordpress Autoblog Plugin

dog-fetching-articles

You are thankful this very special Thanksgiving Holiday because . . .

I am releasing a free Wordpress automatic content (autoblog) plugin called wpArticleFetch.com.

Here is the story of how all this came to be and why you should care.

Many of you have noticed that in the past I endorsed the autoblog plugin called Ultimate Content Fetcher. . . . well here is a funny story about that.

So I rank on the front page of Google for the keyword “Ultimate Content Fetcher” and I threw a heavy endorsement to their software since I personally used it.

Once I achieved this mammoth task of ranking on the front page for ultimate content fetcher (not) . . . I contacted the owner and ask him if there is an affiliate program so I could at least earn a bit from my endorsement. (now would be a good time to read my FTC disclosure, you understand that I like to make money).

His answer was NO, there is no affiliate program. . . .

Feeling a bit jaded, I said well then I will just build my own.

It might appear at this point that I am being a kind of black-hat-autoblog-white-knight of sorts, but it’s really not true. My original plan was to sell this bad boy for around $50 – $150 same as the other guys producing similar software.

However . . . . something happened in between of all this.

I have just released version 1 of Monster Clicks WP Cloaker (a leading Wordpress cloaker) which included a RSS scrapper and auto content feature (autoblog).

We ran into a HUGE problem; not everyone wanted to use our auto content plugin (believe it or not some guys still like using caffeinated content and wp-o-matic). Thus when people tried to install a secondary autoblog plugin it rendered the cloaker useless.

At was at this point, I knew I would end up giving this resource away for free.

I made a choice to un-plug the autoblog content feature from Monster Click WP Cloaker and to provide a better functioning autoblog plugin at no cost.

So now, I am a black-hat-autoblog-white-knight of sorts, because I am giving WP Article Fetch away for free.

If you want to say thanks . . . . leave a comment, post a link to my blog, or go buy a link wheel.

    • Michael Smith says:

      Hey CB,

Its working now . . . . There was an error in the database class that was preventing the articles from being distributed properly.

  5. Darius says:

Great tool.. But i have a question… does the script rewrite the articles to avoid being dinged for duplicate content

    • Michael Smith says:

It does by translating from English to German to Chinese to etc (then back to english).

We are working on incorporating a server side synonym replacement aspect to the content as well.

    Hi Michael

I installed the plugin but get an error when I try to activate it:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare mt_add_pages() in /home/childca5/public_html/Blogging/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf.php on line 0

    Any ideas please?

Thanks and I look forward to getting this plugin working.

thanks, is this similar to uniquearticle wizard?

  9. Wayne says:

I’ve used encrypted plugins before only to find that the plugin author slips in code that takes over much of the blog to their own benefit.
Not a problem in that it’s free.. as long as it’s within reason..
What do you have in the code that is to your benefit?

    • We chose to encrypt because the software pulls from our server the scrapped articles.

If it was un-encrypted then the server location would be wide open for all to see.

      The benefit is clear;

      1) Notoriety for providing the plugin.

      2) Increased exposure to Monster Clicks WP Cloaker (which is not free).

Again, this plugin was produced because of conflicts between Monster Clicks and other popular autoblog plugins. True to my word I promised the community there I would produce such a plugin for their benefit.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: curl_setopt_array() in /homepages/36/d270848158/htdocs/armedandloaded/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf.php on line 0

  14. David says:

I am getting the same fatal error on all the installs I am trying which is strange as I installed the previous version on a few sites with no issues at all. The problem (fatal error) I am encountering is with WP2.9 and your newest update.

  15. Warren says:

Hi Michael! Great plugin! I installed it and I am able to use the “post n articles now” feature, but I can’t get the daily autoposting feature to work. I set it to post 3 articles per day, but nothing ever gets posted. Am I missing something here?

  16. kirk says:

Any luck getting the plugin to run on WP 2.9.1 yet? Looks great and I can’t wait to try it and check out your cloaking plugin.

  17. kirk says:

yes. i jsut went into my host and added ion cube since i saw a mention of it above. still getting the same error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare strip_nofollow() in /home/XXXXXXXX/public_html/articlesxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf_functions.php on line 0

    I don’t have a line 0 in the file. line 1 is as follows – <?php //003ab

  18. kirk says:

I just downloaded the plug in today.

  19. kirk says:

    Is 1.5.5 the latest version?

  20. kirk says:

Possible Solution to WP 2.9 problems.

Install Ion Cube through your host. I use bluehost and it was pretty easy.

Disable all of your plugins and then add WP Article Fetch. After it installs go back and activate each plugin one at a time and when you get to the plugin that it conflicted with you will see the error.

Skip that one and keep activating plugins and write down any that case an error. Once you are done you can either skip the conflicting plugin or search for an alternative plugin that does the same thing.

I had a problem with a dofollow plugin and searched for another that replaced it and they all work fine now.

  21. Magnatech says:

    Hi mate,
same with others, i have found the “fatal error” message, i’m using the monsterhost.com, is there any problem with that host?

  22. Magnatech says:

    sorry, actually its a hostmonster.com
i can’t find place to add the ion cube there
    any clue??

    • kirk says:

I had to add it in through the control panel under php admin. You save the file after it is created and then upload it to your blog root through ftp.

Contact your host and they can walk you through it.

  23. Niki says:

thanks! I just downloaded it and can’t wait to check it out!

  24. Stevo says:

I’m actually on bizbuilder hosting which should not have a problem as far as I know, and am also getting an error:

Warning: fopen(../wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf_functions.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxxx.xxxx/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/one.php on line 0

The older version 1 WP Article Fetch plugin works fine, but this update gives me the error on two diff blogs, one on wordpress version 2.9.1, and the other on 2.8

    • Stevo says:

has there been any progress on this issue? I’d love to get article fetch working again but after a brand new install I’m getting this error:

Warning: fopen(../wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf_functions.php) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/sxxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/one.php on line 0

Is there a link to an older version of the plugin? That would probably help a lot… Thanks for your time.

  25. Kevin says:

Old version worked ok. New version 1.5.5 does not show catagories in dashboard – but a seemingly endless list of articles – many duplicated. Is there a problem – I’m tempted to uninstall and go back to predated version.

  26. yes its work for my domain.thank you very much,i want to apply into my other domain.

  27. Andy Brocklehurst says:

I’ve installed and activated the plugin (am using wp 2.92) and when I go to the settings page it shows this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16 bytes) in /home/thnet/public_html/microscopiccolitis.org/wp-content/plugins/WP-Article-Fetch/wpaf_functions.php on line 0

    Any ideas?

  28. Nighto says:

I am trying out his plugin on my new blog and it doesn’t seems to work (2.9.2). Like Andy I get a whole lot of “article tiles” many duplicated instead of the categories on the dashboard.

Also whenever I click update, the options at the botton doesn’t update at all.

Where do I find the old version of this plugin?

  29. ikram says:

  30. Kris says:

Hmm, this plugin looks great…However, I update everything, it says changes are saved and new posts have been published successfully. However, the posts are not showing up on my site. The categories were created, just no posts. Any ideas?

  31. Abe says:

I activated the plugin, setup my category but there are no posts showing although I get success message that my posts are being posted.I have hostgator hosting.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  32. Abe says:

Yes i did, from the main site.

  33. Tony says:

    Hi
Thanks for the plugin..it sounds great but I have encountered an error when trying it on 2 different hosts…..Hostgator and a VDS.

Using Wordpress 2.8.4 at end on install it goes to a 404 error but shows as installed.

When I edit settings in categories etc no posts are made either now or in the future.
I checked the files and it shows only articlefetch.php is active while the other 3 show as inactive.

    What should I do first?
I will be happy to promote this plugin for you when I get it going as it sounds really good.

    Cheers

  34. Did you download the latest update?

  35. Kris says:

Not sure if this is in response to my question or not, but I downloaded this only 5 days or so ago. Is there something newer?
