Google Goggles A New Way To See The World
It’s the idea that we can write an entry story from a single picture, behind the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words”.
Now Google is unleashing a rapidly expanding cutting edge search technology that is based on just that . . . pictures / images.
By using a small application that is installed to your cell phone or mobile device you can then leverage the camera to capture an image that is scanned by Google Goggles. . . . the results are amazing.
Scan a business card to learn more information about the company or individual.
Take a snap shot of a store front building and then use the cross link GPS system to get more information about that particular establishment.
So far the technology works well for, Landmarks, book covers, business cards, famous artwork, physical places, wines, logos, and for instance food items.
Google goggles is not ideal for taking a picture of your dog and expecting to get a ton of information on “Fido”. So animals, foods, and other abstract items are out for now.
Apparently the technology is still in its infancy.
