How To Build Backlinks

Ever since Search Engine Optimization took over the online marketing scenario, website owners have been fine tuning their process to get onto the first page (and if possible on to the top) of search engine result pages. While there are several components to a successful SEO campaign, one of the key elements there is link building.

link-building

There are various kinds of links that are now considered mainstream

  • One-Way Links
  • Reciprocal Links
  • Three way Links
  • Link Wheel (Web 2.0 Properties)

Like you understand from the names, each is a different kind of a link, but they all lead back to

your main website. To be able to build quality links, we need to understand the philosophy on which SEO works (or rather how search engines work).

Links are the simplest way of proving popularity of your website, and if the link is from a website with a higher page rank than yours, naturally there is more value lent to it. There are a few key techniques in link building, like

  • Article Submissions
  • Directory Submissions
  • Social Bookmarking, and
  • Blog commenting.

Most of these are free, but the good ones ensure that no spam flows through their firewalls. So if you are thinking that you can simply download a one-click posting application (there are dime a dozen available on the net) and get high on SERPs, think again. Google (and the rest of the search engines) is much more intelligent than that!

To build quality links, there is necessity for a strategy – which defines whether the popularity is for a given period of time, or whether it is for the long haul. After taking a few decisions, your SEO pro (or you, if you know what you are doing) will start off posting and building back links. This is an arduous and slow process, and whatever some software tells you, you can’t get onto the first page of Google in a day’s time (and expect to stay there). Organic link building is in, and most of the good SEO companies will agree that you can expect the process of getting onto the first page of Google to take 3-4 months if done right. But the upside is that you will stay there for a longer period by just brushing up your links, without a lot of effort from then on. And believe us, it is worth it!

There are hundreds of so-called ‘Amazing Softwares’ on the net which promise to build thousands of links in under an hour. If you are in a real hurry, and are not worried even if Google will give you a slap (and relegate you to the dungeons forever), feel free to try them out. You will still build traffic and might even make a few sales.

Our advice? Sit with your SEO consultant and chalk out a game plan for link building. Then get doing it. That is any day better than fiddling around with dozens of techniques and finally realizing that you are only wasting time.

    Thanks a ton.

  2. Yeah, but hire SEO consultant is not free. This is a problem for broke blogger who only wanted to find cheap if not to say “free” way for backlink. Blog commenting, probably the best way, but spotting the one with dofollow tag quite hassle. I use one good backlink software tool. It’s not a blackhat, and it’s very good. The only thing this software do, is find for us the blog with our niche topic, and list the result based on dofollow (we can choose for nofollow, and there will be “a sign” left to tell us which one). I wrote about backlink builder myself, and you can grab the software there, along with free download of 1000 dofollow blog. It sure did important for creating quality backlink.

  3. Another method is to have your blog to be dofollow blog so that people will be coming to comment
