Make Money From Blogging

This is a good question, and one that has so much we can talk about. However, we will stick to the basics here and let you go off and explore them on your own.
With blogs becoming mainstream websites (heard of WordPress?) and with the capability to host widgets and external html scripts, there are a lot of options for publishers to make money now. But before talking about the different options, ask yourself this question – am I creating a blog for the sake of blogging and sharing information, or am I only creating it to make money? We won’t tell you which one is right or wrong, but depending on that, you can expect money to come in.
Blogs are hugely personal spaces, and spam filled blogs usually get neglected. So if you are looking to only build a blog for inserting ads and making money, choose a website instead.
Coming to monetization of blogs, here are the top options
AdSense – We won’t even call it PPC, as in the realm of blogs, most of the other ad servers don’t exist. It is Google AdSense that rules the roost, and is a good source of revenue if you have a good number of visitors and a good amount of original content. Just see that you don’t make the ads take place of honor on your blog.
Banners – As your blog becomes popular, you can start selling space on it, and the monthly incomes are quite good. The average is $ 100-$ 500, and that is per banner. But you need a lot of unique visitors to satisfy an advertiser that your blog is worth it. It might take time, but you’ll get there if you are serious.
Sponsored Reviews – Blogs are places where opinions are to be voiced and there are compan
ies that pay you for writing a positive review about their product. Usually this is paid per post and can vary hugely depending on the popularity and page rank of your blog.
Affiliate Marketing – Though not a direct source of revenue, writing a post which has a link to some affiliate product you’d like to recommend is a source of income.
Widgets – Sites like Amazon have widgets which can be embedded onto blogs. When someon
e buys a product from that widget, we get paid, and most of the popular websites now come with these widget options for affiliates.
As we said, we are only covering the top options, and the actual choice will be made by you depending on the kind of audience you get and the sector you are serving with your blog.
Once again, don’t make ads too obvious a part of your blog, or you will lose readership!
