The Simple Art of SEO

Link building and SEO is my first love on the internet. There are few things as satisfying than when you finally reach a top position for a keyword that you have been targeting.seo

I have personal experience with reaching the top 3 positions on keywords that have over 44,000,000 competing pages. Below I wanted to share some of my own SEO and link building strategies that I have used to achieve these un-common results.

It all starts with keyword research . . .

At the start of any SEO campaign, I always begin with good keyword research. The most important element that I watch out for is the KEI rating.

I have a very simple strategy here . . . I find keywords that have low competition and the highest possible rate of return. I then select 5 – 10 of those keywords and start organizing. I use the Free Google Keyword Tool and Keyword Elite.

Competition . . .

From here, I like to see what I am up against. I will go to Big “G” and search the keywords I have decided to target then study the top 3 – 5 players for each keyword. I will check back links, indexed pages, on site content, and a few other elements.
Content is King . . .

Once I know who the players are, I then move towards a solid content campaign. No matter what anyone tells you . . . you will not rank well without custom & unique content that has proper keyword density. I write my articles with a 1% – 3% keyword density . . . I use http://textalyser.net/ to check this.

Link Building Comes Next . . .

There are several link building strategies, but at a minimum you should be doing the following:

  • Directory Submissions
  • Articles Submissions
  • Social Book Marking
  • Blog Commenting

There is a lot of advanced and sophisticated ways that you can drive massive amounts of back links, but many people simply don’t possess the skills to drive 10,000 back links in 1 month. Define a specific back link building strategy . . . for instance write an article and try to get 100+ links to that that article. **HINT** Remember, Big “G” loves deep linking.
